Me & 3 lovely aussies set off on a scooter adventure one sunny Tuesday afternoon in Southern Sri Lanka
And we came across this almighty interesting spot where planes, cars, trains and boats all travel parallel to each other. Fascinating.
It was Sri Lankan independence day, which means everyone was on holiday when an emergency call came in and we were tasked by the Sri Lankan Air Force to help them complete a secret mission. Which we took very very seriously.
Initially we had to help them finish a demanding surplus of Milo. Simple. But essential work.
The pilot at one stage had to step down and tasked me with the most serious job of them all….
But then the Milo conflicted with my sensitive tummy, so Pip and Simone stepped in, brave soldiers, whilst Katie was asked by their comms department to document the whole thing, for publicity purposes only, obviously.
After completing our mission, we’d worked up an appetite and stopped for a late lunch at Lean 83 along the road from Unawatuna to Weligama (near Midigama)…
I ate a delicious (and hot) chicken curry with all the trimmings! The girls ate prawns. Nice.
Twas thirsty work…
Mission complete, it was time for some RnR.
I chose to take lots of photos.
The girls preferred yoga.
We all noticed the planet-esque sun and had an existential moment.
Then got distracted by some uber hot surf chicks. We all voted left, but then I started to swing underdog and went right. Winners, either way.
Then I noticed the crescent moon. Makes a nice photo huh!
One from earlier I added to pad this gallery out. Surrealist tap. Sri Lanka. Who’s have thought.
Pippa taking us in for a smooth landing.
Pip again, looking lovely. I’ll add more to this photo story as and when I can. There are some great pics of the ‘flight in action’ where Simone served as Trolly Dolly. Excited? You betcha.
